The blog's title is a reference to هوامش على دفتر النكسة, a poem written by Nizar Qabbani in 1967 following the six-day war, in which he laments the state of the Arab world, and pleads the younger generation to do better.
The blog's URL, on the other hand, is a reference to souk lebhira (سوق البحيرة), an old market in Casablanca dating back to the 40s and destroyed in 2026, known for its second-hand bookshops where you could buy and trade your used books.
